FIELD: printing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of engraving prints. The method includes formation on a surface of a metal board of a protective pattern, deepening of board sections not protected with the pattern by etching, printing of prints. In the method, the protective pattern is made of material, which is not dissolved in printing paint, and the board is made of a tinned sheet.

EFFECT: invention allows for elimination of an operation of removal of a protective pattern, reduction in requirements for roughness of a surface to board metal, reduction in an unproductive flow rate of printing paint, and simplification of a printing process, control of formation of a deepened relief, increase in the quality of an engraving print, and reduction in labor intensity and cost of its manufacturing.
