FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device for refining the slurry-electrolyte mixture extracted from the electrolytic cell during the electrolytic production of magnesium. The device contains a plumbing suction manifold connected to a mixer made in the form of a lined container, divided by a partition into a sludge-electrolyte mixture settling compartment and a clarified melt accumulation compartment, closed from above by slabs with openings for supplying the sludge-electrolyte mixture, for removing sludge and for sampling the melt and made with the possibility of heating with warming electrodes installed from above through the slabs, busbars of warming electrodes. The slab of the compartments is multilayered, and the slab of the clarified melt accumulation compartment is made removable and sealed along the perimeter with a sand seal. The plumbing suction manifold is connected to the mixer by gas exhaust nozzles installed in the slab, one in each compartment, while inspection nozzles with covers and a seal are installed on the horizontal and vertical ends of the plumbing suction manifolds.
EFFECT: increasing the service life of the slab in the device, its tightness and reduction of the air pollution of the working area.
