FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: methods for quantifying the resistance of deposited materials to the formation of hot cracks using process samples of the type with a circular seam, and allows to select the brand of deposited materials and welding modes. Methods for testing deposited metal for resistance to hot cracking, used in various industries, as well as in laboratory studies of deposited metal to select the grade of deposited materials and welding modes. A process test of the “circular joint” type is made, it is deposited by filling the annular groove with weld materials, and after cooling, it is subjected to a study of the nature of hot cracks and their number in the deposit metal at a 10-fold increase. Pressed ceramic-metal rings made in the form of bushings in the amount of at least three pieces are used as deposited materials. Depositing is carried out at a constant speed, welding current and arc voltage, and the intensity of heat removal is increased by water-cooled metal molds, cooling the inner and outer surfaces of the deposited metal. The number of cracks in each process sample is counted, the result is summarized and the average is calculated, which is taken as an indicator of the tendency of the deposited metal to form hot cracks.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of test evaluation, the sensitivity of process samples of the “circular joint” type to the formation of hot cracks, as well as to reduce the labor intensity and metal consumption of research.
