FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: used for the production of rods and tubular billets in continuous casting mills. Method for continuous production of a bar stock of constant cross section of unlimited length. The melt from the storage tank enters the mold in the form of a jet with a certain speed, where, by cooling, it crystallizes into a round billet due to the translational-rotational movement of the billet surface relative to the inner surface of the mold, the mold starts from the conical surface, where the conical billet is installed, and the jet falls on the conical surface of the billet, where the melt in the form of a scull is distributed and crystallized simultaneously over the entire cross section of the billet in inclined cone-shaped layers from the center to the edge, due to heat loss by radiation, thermal conductivity and convection, and at the final stage, the crystallizing melt is subjected to compression and crystallizes under pressure between the surface of the billet and the mold.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of use and expand technical capabilities by reducing energy costs, reducing the production cycle, increasing the mass of metal during melting, reducing equipment dimensions and improving metal quality.
