FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a surgical robotic system and a method for analyzing the performance of a surgical robotic system. The system comprises a surgical robot, a console with a user interface connected to the surgical robot, through which the user can control the movement of the surgical robot, a recording device for recording data of a surgical procedure performed by the robot, and a portable user terminal. The system has (i) a display driven by a recorder. The recording device is configured to display a machine-readable code, so it is possible to identify the recording device and the camera connected to the said user terminal. The user terminal is configured to, upon receiving an image of the computer readable code from the camera, decode the code to determine the data embedded therein, and perform transmission of the decoded embedded data along with information identifying the user of the user terminal to the recording device to perform registration of the identified user in relation with a robot-assisted procedure. Alternatively, the system has (ii) a display controlled by a user terminal. The user terminal is configured to display a computer-readable code, so the user of the user terminal, and a camera connected to the recording device can be identified. The enrolling device is configured to, upon receiving an image of a machine-readable code from the camera, decode this code to identify a user of the user terminal and perform registration of the identified user in connection with a robot-assisted procedure. The method includes performing a surgical procedure using a surgical robot, measuring the state of the robot twice during the procedure, storing log data indicating the state of the robot during the double measurement, and including an indication of a user participating in the procedure and the user's role in the procedure, storing a data set, defining a set of metrics; each metric defines the states of the surgical robot and specifies a role. The method includes applying one of the metrics to the stored log data by identifying certain states of the surgical robot in the log data and obtaining a performance indicator of the surgical robot and selectively reporting on the performance indicator to the user indicated in the log data as having performed the role indicated by the metric in the procedure.
EFFECT: ability to collect and distribute information related to robotic surgical procedures.
