FIELD: microbiology; biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of biologically active substances using microorganisms. A method of the biotransformation of (-)-isopulegol is proposed. Rhodococcus rhodochrous VKPM Ac-2187 strain is interacted with (-)-isopulegol in a mineral-salt medium under conditions of periodic cultivation for 5 days. The reaction medium is acidified. The resulting 10-hydroxy and 10-carboxy derivatives of (-)-isopulegol are extracted with ethyl acetate.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain new potentially biologically active compounds: 2-(1R,2S,5R)-5-(hydroxymethyl)-2-(prop-1-en-2-yl)cyclohexanol and 3-(1R,3R,4S)-3-hydroxy-4-(prop- 1-en-2-yl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid.
