SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of biologically active substances using microorganisms. The method involves the biotransformation of the pentacyclic triterpenoid oleanolic acid (1.0 g/l) using the Rhodococcus rhodochrous strain “ВКПМ Ac-2189” for 5 days with the formation of a previously not described 5α.22α-dihydroxy-hypsogenic acid, which exhibits antibacterial properties and is promising as a platform for the targeted synthesis of new pharmacologically active compounds. The invention allows to consider the R. rhodochrous strain “ВКПМ Ac-2189” as an active biotransformer of oleanolic acid, capable of catalyzing the regio- and stereoselective oxidation of oleanolic acid at positions that are inaccessible for chemical synthesis, and creates the prerequisites for the production of biologically active derivatives based on pentacyclic triterpenoids using rhodococci. The strain is stored in the Regional Profiled Collection of Alkanotrophic Microorganisms (acronym for the IEGM collection) under number IEGM 757.

EFFECT: obtaining 5α,22α-dihydroxy-hypsogenic acid using rhodococcus rhodochrous cells.
