FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for prosthetics of the hip joint in dogs and cats. A device for prosthetics of the hip joint of dogs and cats includes a cup intended for installation in the acetabulum of the pelvic bone with at least a pair of through holes, an insert made of polymer material intended for installation inside the cavity of the cup, screws with the possibility of their installation inside the through holes of the cup, spherical element, adapter, a stem with screw-threaded stem through holes and stem screws. The cup and the liner are provided with means for connecting the liner to the cup with the possibility of rigid fixation. Through holes in the cup are made with plugs with the possibility of their removal. Each plug contains a central part in the form of a plate with a star-shaped blind hole opened towards the cavity of the cup, connected by means of bridges with a ledge extending from the cup and with the wall of the through hole in the cup. The ledge is located at a distance from the surface of the cup cavity not less than the height of the screw head. The liner is made with the possibility of separating from the cup and replacing it with a similar liner. The means for connecting the liner to the cup with the possibility of rigid fixation comprises an annular protrusion made on the outer side of the liner made of a deformable material with the possibility of being located in the annular cavity in the cavity of the cup, which has a protrusion located above the annular cavity from the side of the entrance to the cavity of the cup, and, in addition, contains a protrusion made on the outer side of the insert. The cup has a central hole in which a protrusion is placed, made on the outer side of the liner. The invention provides the versatility of a set of parts, in which one type of cup with an insert is used for both primary and revision surgery instead of the two types of cups used previously: cups for primary operations and cups for revision (repeated) operations, reduction (reduction) the number of parts, when the same cup is used for both the main and revision surgery, that is, the advantage is to use one cup instead of two, reducing the amount of time for performing operations, reducing the amount of labor spent by the surgeon on performing operations, including repeated ones, in particular, related to the installation of the cup and the installation of the stem, reducing the risks associated with the operation, and expanding the range of devices for this purpose.
EFFECT: invention provides prevention of removal of the cup and thereby reduction of the pain of the operation for the animal, increase in the success of the operation due to the use of the same cup that was used previously, simplification of the operation due to the fact that there is no need to remove the cup, prevention of replacement of the entire structure of the previously installed hip joint, so, there is no need to change the spherical element, adapter and stem, but only the insert needs to be replaced.
