FIELD: gas treatment.
SUBSTANCE: method for treatment of gaseous combustion products from toxic components of emissions used in the heat and power industry. A method for neutralizing toxic components of flue gases is claimed. The method is carried out by catalytic thermal neutralization and neutralization of nitrogen and carbon oxides contained in flue gases in the catalyst section. The flue gases are then directed to a regenerative air preheater located downstream of the catalyst section. After that, the flue gases are removed through the flue to the chimney. In this case, the active substances of the catalyst are selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium together with rhodium, oxides of basic transition metals and mixtures thereof and applied to a ceramic honeycomb substrate. The catalyst section is made in the form of a prefabricated catalytic module with overall dimensions L⁄D equiv in the range 0.6÷1.4, formed from monolithic blocks of a honeycomb cellular structure of a square section with a unit cell size of 8×8 mm coated with a layer of catalytically active substance. The location of the catalyst section is characterized by certain regime parameters, namely, flue gas temperature in the range of 250÷350°C and oxidant content from 3 to 5%.
EFFECT: increasing the level of flue gas cleaning from toxic emissions of nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide, reducing the hydraulic resistance of the catalytic reactor without reducing the efficiency of flue gas cleaning, increasing the efficiency and simplification of the device for neutralizing toxic components of flue gases.
