FIELD: tokamak plasma vessel.
SUBSTANCE: plasma vessel contains a toroidal plasma chamber, a plurality of poloidal field coils, an upper diverter assembly and a lower diverter assembly. A plurality of poloidal field coils is configured to provide a poloidal magnetic field with a practically symmetrical plasma core and upper and lower zeros, so that ions in the near-wall region of the plasma outside the plasma core are directed by the magnetic field past one of the upper and lower zeros to the diverter surfaces of the corresponding upper and lower nodes diverter. Each of the upper and lower nodes of the diverter contains a radially inner surface of the diverter, formed from solid metal and located with the possibility of receiving ions from the near-wall region of the plasma; a radially outer surface of the diverter located with the possibility of receiving ions from the near-wall region of the plasma, which is located radially outside the outer boundary of the plasma; a liquid metal inlet; and a liquid metal outlet below the liquid metal inlet. Each of the upper and lower assemblies of the diverter is configured so that, during operation, liquid metal flows from the liquid metal inlet to the liquid metal outlet along at least the corresponding radially inner surface of the diverter.
EFFECT: optimization of load distribution on the diverter surface while reducing the effect of heat fluxes on the diverter surface.
