FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: donor material is fixed and at the first stage in each interval between keratotomic scars one interrupted submerged suture is applied. Sutures are placed in the middle between postkeratotomy scars. At the second stage, a twisting suture is applied in such a way that the superficial step of the suture material overlaps the postkeratotomy scar, and the needle and thread are inserted 1 mm from the graft edge, and the needle is punctured 1 mm from the edge of the recipient's corneal bed.
EFFECT: method allows to reduce the risk of depressurization of the anterior chamber, reduce the risk of developing hypotension, reduce the likelihood of secondary infection and ensure uniform and strong fixation of the graft in case of penetrating or anterior layered keratoplasty performed in patients after radial keratotomy.
