FIELD: laser polishing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for laser polishing of a diamond surface and a device for its implementation. Focusing of the laser beam on the diamond surface is performed at an angle of 80-90° from the vertical, lowered onto the surface to be treated. The diamond surface is scanned with at least two laser beams simultaneously, while laser irradiation is carried out from different directions. The device contains a laser radiation source optically connected to the diamond surface of the plate installed in the micropositioner, a laser beam separation unit and optical control units for the separated laser beams, optically connected to the laser beam separation unit. The control units for the separated laser beams are optically connected to the diamond surface and are installed with the possibility of simultaneous irradiation of the diamond surface from different directions
