FIELD: gas processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and system for extracting a helium product from natural gas. The method includes supplying a first natural gas stream containing helium to a first natural gas processing unit and supplying at least one second natural gas stream containing helium to at least one second natural gas processing unit. The first natural gas processing unit comprises a helium recovery means by which a helium product is formed from at least a portion of the first natural gas stream. Helium is temporarily transferred from at least one second natural gas stream to the first natural gas stream using a helium transfer system containing a membrane unit, before supplying the first natural gas stream to the first natural gas processing unit and before supplying at least one second natural gas stream gas to at least one second natural gas processing unit.
EFFECT: ensuring a constant rate of production of the helium product and increase the efficiency of its extraction.
