FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering and can be used for corrosion tests under irradiation in a liquid metal environment. A method for maintaining the activity of the oxygen concentration in lead in an ampoule irradiation device includes creating a coating of oxide components of ferritic-martensitic steel by treating the inner surface of the ampoule with high-temperature water vapor for 24 hours at a temperature of 400°C, filling the ampoule with liquid lead, previously purified from oxygen by holding the liquid lead, in contact with iron shavings in an argon atmosphere at a temperature of 550°C for 5 hours, followed by sealing the ampoule in argon.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to maintain the activity of oxygen in liquid lead in a closed volume during corrosion tests in it.
