FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used, in particular, to restore the seating surfaces made of carbon steel, cylindrical coupling halves connecting the shafts of the rotors of steam or gas turbines. The method includes forming a coating on the inner surface of the coupling half by electrospark alloying with a single pulse energy of 16-24 J and a specific time of 1.5 to 3.5 min/cm2 with an electrode made of an alloy of the following composition, wt.%: C - 0.05 ÷ 0.2; Mn - 2.0 ÷ 3.0; Si - 0.15 ÷ 0.25; Mo - 12.0 ÷ 16.0; Cr - 12.0 ÷ 15.0; W - 3.0 ÷ 6.0; Ni - the rest. After said coating is completed, the formed layer of said coating is bored to fit the fit size of the coupling half.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to apply a coating to the inner surface of cylindrical coupling halves made of 35L carbon steel, with subsequent restoration of their seating surfaces to their nominal dimensions.
