FIELD: chemical synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: production of semi-industrial and industrial scale resorcinol-formaldehyde resins (RFR) highly selective to cesium-137 ions The method includes a solution of resorcinol in KOH prepared at a molar ratio of 1:1 and mixed with cooled to 1-4°C a formaldehyde solution in the molar ratio of resorcinol to formaldehyde (0.6-1.8): 2.2 using pumps by separate feeding into a mixing reactor connected to a spiral condenser, which are located in series in a thermostatically controlled chamber with a temperature of 1-4° C, at the outlet of the spiral condenser, the cooled solution is collected in a container and, as it accumulates, a gel is formed at a temperature of 70°C and cured at a temperature of 190-210°C within 2-6 hours. This is followed by mechanical grinding and screening.
EFFECT: providing a continuous method for obtaining RFR homogeneous in composition and physical and chemical properties with a capacity that ensures semi-industrial and industrial production of the sorbent.
