FIELD: surface treatment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for treating at least one surface of a base, which is at least partially made of aluminium and/or an aluminium alloy, an acidic aqueous composition for treating said surface, a concentrate for obtaining said acidic aqueous composition, its use and base, containing at least one surface, which is at least partially made of aluminium and/or aluminium alloy and treated with said acidic aqueous composition. The method includes the step of bringing said at least one surface into contact with an acidic aqueous composition containing at least 60 wt.% of water, based on the total content of organic and inorganic solvents, including water, and (a) one or more metal compounds (M) selected from the group of titanium compounds, zirconium compounds, hafnium compounds and mixtures thereof, and (b) one or more linear polymers (P) obtained by controlled radical polymerization containing (m1)hydroxyethyl- and/or hydroxypropyl(meth)acrylate, (m2)vinylphosphonic acid and (m3)(meth)acrylic acid as their polymerized monomeric units. At least one said polymer (P) is included in the acidic aqueous composition in an amount of 50-5000 ppm based on the total weight of the acidic aqueous composition.

EFFECT: good anti-corrosion protection, as well as adhesive properties when applying subsequent coatings.
