FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to a method for the production of cast iron by continuous liquid-phase reduction. The method comprises the following steps: mixing iron-containing mineral powder with a reducing agent and a slag former to obtain mixed powder materials; placing the materials for starting the furnace in a reduction furnace and heating the materials for starting the furnace to melt to form a melt pool for starting the furnace; feeding the mixed powder materials into the reduction furnace and blowing oxygen-rich fuel into the reduction furnace for heating; agitating with a stirring blade to form a molten slag layer and a molten iron layer; mixing is carried out in such a way that a swirl is formed in the layer of molten slag; and adjusting the position of the mixing blade, the speed of rotation, and the amount of the mixed powder materials supplied to ensure continuous discharge of the molten iron and the reduced molten slag.
EFFECT: method is characterized by technological simplicity, energy saving and environmental friendliness.
