FIELD: maintenance of locomotives.
SUBSTANCE: method of layover for a diesel locomotive before a long-term downtime and subsequent outfitting at low ambient temperatures consists in pre-draining the diesel locomotive systems by draining the coolants into receiving tanks installed at the outfitting point of the locomotive depot. Then the locomotive is sent to the layover traction tracks, and the coolants are supplied from the receiving tanks for storage to the main stationary heat accumulators. If it is necessary to continue operations, the diesel locomotive is moved from the layover point to the outfitting point position, coolants required by regulations for this series are supplied from the main stationary heat accumulators to the output filling tanks, the oil is filtered, and from there the locomotive systems are filled at a rate that ensures low thermal stresses in the engine block and sections of the refrigerator.
EFFECT: facilitating the start of the engine in cold weather and reducing energy consumption to maintain the temperature of the coolants.
