METHOD OF EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VITELLIFORM MACULAR DEGENERATION THERAPY IN ADULTS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/00 A61F9/08 A61B3/02 A61B3/06

Abstract RU 2797924 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: optical coherence tomography is performed to fix foci of vitelliform macular degeneration of the retina, their size and thickness of the retina. Autofluorescence of the fundus in the projection of the foci is carried out and maintenance therapy is performed. A number of medicinal products are used as maintenance therapy: blockade with S.Retinalamini 2.5 mg, S.Emoxipini 1%-0.5 ml under the skin of the temple, S.Mexidoli 100 mg intramuscularly, S.Riboxini 2%-10 ml intravenously, S.Mildronati 10%-5.0 ml intravenously, before and after maintenance therapy, microperimetry is additionally performed according to the new expert exam method 4-2 program, which includes examination of 37 points of the central and paracentral macular area within 6 degrees using the Goldmarm III stimulus, with a stimulus intensity of 36 dB, in automatic mode. Projection field is 30° × 30°, a tracking frequency is 25 Hz, as a result of such frequency central and paracentral defects are detected with a light sensitivity of the macular retina of less than 26 dB, and at these points with reduced light sensitivity in the area of vitelliform material deposition, microperimetry is performed in manual mode with the same parameters as in automatic mode, to determine the sensitivity values. After that, the values at the points with reduced photosensitivity before and after treatment are compared, and with an increase in photosensitivity after the treatment, its effectiveness is determined.

EFFECT: method enables patients to effectively perform maintenance therapy, which makes it possible to assess the dynamics of development of vitelliform macular degeneration, the frequency of conservative therapy, and the stabilization of the process in such patients.
