FIELD: cable production.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when applying talc to the cable core. The cable talc coating system comprising the cable pulling mechanism and the talc spraying unit on the cable blank connected to the source of the electrostatic field, is equipped with two optical units and a video image processing and analysis unit. Each optical unit has a video camera, an LED light source and a device for forced airflow of the optics. The video image processing and analysis unit is connected to both video cameras, while one of the optical units is located in the direction of cable pulling in front of the talc spraying unit, and the other optical unit is located in the direction of cable pulling after the said unit. The video image processing and analysis unit is configured to generate a warning signal when deviations of the applied talc layer from the specified parameters are detected.

EFECT: increasing the uniformity of talc spraying on the surface of the pulled cable blank and improving the quality of the manufactured cables
