SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to create means for identifying ground targets. In the claimed method, the final assessment of the identification feature of a ground target is formed based on the results of processing the encoded response signal generated and transmitted by the transponder of the radar system with an active response (RSAR) of the ground target in response to the encoded interrogation signal generated and transmitted by the interrogator of the RSAR, the reception of which is carried out by two spaced interrogators of the RSAR installed on two interacting aircrafts. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the sector of uncertainty of the location of the RSAR transponder and, as a result, increase the reliability of the identification of a ground target in a multi-purpose environment.

EFFECT: increase of reliability of identification of a ground target in a multi-purpose environment.
