FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: used to determine the refractive index of the atmosphere along the path of propagation of radio waves. The result is achieved by the proposed device for measuring the refractive index of the atmosphere, containing a synchronizer, a modulator connected in series with it, a microwave generator, an antenna switch, an antenna-feeder device consisting of a highly directional antenna and a waveguide line, a receiver, an indicator, characterized in that it additionally introduced a refractive index meter of the atmosphere, including the first quadrature phase meter, the second quadrature phase meter and the refractive index calculator; the input of the first quadrature phase meter is connected to the second output of the microwave generator, and the output is connected to the first input of the refractive index calculator; the input of the second quadrature phase meter is connected to the second output of the receiver, and the output is connected to the second input of the refractive index calculator, the output of which is connected to the input of the indicator.
EFFECT: increase in the tactical characteristics of radar facilities by taking into account the influence of atmospheric parameters on the conditions for the propagation of radio waves.
