FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is a method of obtaining F1 hybrid seeds of sugar beet including growing original seeds of parental forms, sowing seeds of parental forms in the year of harvest of the original seeds in the first ten days of August with an increased rate of growing steckling root crops, harvesting in late October or early November, autumn — winter storage in a root storage at a temperature of 1–2°C with a relative humidity of 90–94%, sorting and early spring planting of stecklings with a norm of 3–4 root crops per 1 linear meter. According to the invention, stecklings are used directly to obtain hybrid seeds, bypassing the stage of growing basic seeds.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the productivity of hybrids, increase the coefficient of seed multiplication per area unit, and improve the quality of hybrid seeds.
