The device for generating aerosol comprises: a heating unit that comprises an inductor, the first contact, the second contact and the third contact; a controller; wherein the first contact is in contact with the proximal end of the inductor, the second contact is in contact with the distal end of the inductor, the third contact is in contact with the inductor between the first contact and the second contact; the first, second and third contacts are electrically connected to the controller, which is configured to control the supply of alternating electric current only between the pair of the first, second and third contacts; the first contact and the second contact are fixed contacts, and the third contact is made in the form of a moving contact.
