SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol generating device. The aerosol generating device additionally comprises a slider assembly. The first slider assembly comprises the first contact, whereas the assembly is located adjacent to the inductance coil of the heating unit and is slidable parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inductance coil mounted on the first slider assembly and adapted for contacting the inductance coil. In addition, the device comprises a second slider assembly comprising a second contact, the assembly being located adjacent to the inductance coil of the heating assembly and configured to be shifted parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inductance coil. The second contact is mounted on the second slider assembly and is positioned to be in contact with the inductor coil. Alternating current is applied to the inductor coil between the first contact and the second contact.

EFFECT: providing an aerosol generating device with the possibility of selecting heating zones and uniform heating of the aerosol-forming substrate
