METHOD OF PREDICTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT PANCREATIC FISTULA AFTER PANCREATODUODENAL RESECTION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01N33/68 G01N33/74

Abstract RU 2798660 C1

FIELD: medicine; surgery; oncology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the development of a clinically significant pancreatic fistula after pancreatoduodenal resection. The parameters of blood, procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are determined on the fourth day after the surgery. If the value of the CRP/PCT ratio is more than 124.7, the risk of developing a clinically significant pancreatic fistula is assessed as high.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of predicting the development of a clinical pancreatic fistula in the postoperative period in patients who underwent pancreatoduodenal resection, and, as a result, the possibility of an early start of medical manipulations, which helps to reduce the severity of complications and reduce the level of mortality, by determining the patient's blood, procalcitonin and C-reactive protein, and assessment of their relationship.
