Computed tomography is performed with the patient in a strictly symmetrical horizontal position relative to the midline of the body. Computed tomographic images are obtained in axial projection at the level of the III lumbar vertebra. Determine the area of ​​the psoas major muscle (APMM) from one side. The index of the psoas major muscle (IPMM) is calculated according to the formula IPMM = APMM / (body length in meters)2 (m2). If the IPMM is less than 3.5 cm2 / m2 in men and less than 2.7 cm2 / m2 in women, the risk of postoperative complications after pancreatoduodenal resection is assessed as high.

EFFECT: method provides ability to predict a high risk of development of various complications in the postoperative period after pancreatoduodenal resection.
