FIELD: railway automation and telemechanics.

SUBSTANCE: radio-photonic system for location determination of speed of cuts on hump yard comprises a unit of microwave oscillations, a unit of multichannel signal processing (UMSP) and multiple location speed sensors (LSS). Microwave oscillation unit includes a microwave generator, a semiconductor laser module, an electrooptical modulator and an optical radiation divider into N channels. Each LSS includes an antenna, a photodetector module, a microwave power divider into two channels, a circulator, a mixer and a Doppler frequency signal amplifier with paraphase outputs. UMSP comprises a digital signal processor and a plurality of linear signal receivers, each having a differential amplifier and an analogue-to-digital converter connected in series. Microwave oscillation unit is connected to the LSS by means of an N-channel fibre-optic transmission line. LSS are connected to UMSP by means of N-channel twisted pair of Doppler signals transmission.

EFFECT: higher reliability, noise immunity and efficiency of the cut speed determination system.
