SUBSTANCE: method for diagnosing an antenna array consists in measuring the strength of the electromagnetic field at M points Em meas located in the zone of the near radiated field, calculating the amplitude-phase distribution In solv in its elements by solving a system of linear algebraic equations: |Jsolv>=[A]|Emeas>; moreover, at each m-th point, the amplitude of the electromagnetic field at and the phase difference at m and (m -1) points are measured, and the elements Amn are equal to the calculated values of the modulus of the electromagnetic field strength created by the n-th element of the array at the m-th point, and the phases are equal to the phase difference at the m-th and (m -1) points.
EFFECT: simplified organization of measurements in the zone of the near radiated field by eliminating the need for a phase-stable transmission line connected to a high-frequency signal generator and used to measure the phase of oscillations at the measurement point.
