FIELD: ceramics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of ceramics based on non-metallic refractory materials used for the production of refractory products, composite coatings on bearing parts and machining tools. Marshalite powder or aluminium powder are used to prepare the charge, and liquid glass and urea solution are used as a binder. The mixture is moulded into briquettes, dried at a temperature of 150°C, after which it is placed in a plasma reactor and treated with an arc discharge power of 60 kW, which makes it possible to create an average mass temperature in the working zone up to 3800°C. The formed technical melt is poured into a mould, while in the process of draining an additional melt heating system is used, based on the process of heating the atmosphere by converting the energy of the directed relative motion of charged and neutral particles into their thermal energy and the flow of the resulting electric current through it.

EFFECT: reducing the time of sialon synthesis due to the use of highly concentrated thermal plasma streams.
