FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of photodecomposition catalysts for basic organic dyes. A layered double hydroxide (LDH) with a hydrotalcite structure has the general form where aluminum and holmium cations simultaneously act as three-charged metal cations, and it contains NO3- and/or CO32- as anions An- whereas y=0.01, x=0.2, n=1 or 2, and m is about 0.3. This compound was obtained by hydrothermal treatment of a reaction mixture comprising salts of the indicated metals and a precipitating agent, followed by centrifugation, washing of the precipitate, and drying it in air. LDH comprises holmium cations in the oxidation state +3 in the composition of brucite-like layers and is characterized by a single-phase structure and good crystallinity.
EFFECT: improved manufacturability.
