FIELD: defectoscopy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for high-speed ultrasonic flaw detection using Doppler effect. Invention consists in the fact that during relative motion contactless acoustic transducer and the test object in the product emit ultrasonic waves at a predetermined frequency at a predetermined angle with a known radiation pattern, receiving the reflected echo signals, at known scanning speed, Doppler frequency shift of echo signals is taken into account, wherein instantaneous frequencies of echo signals are determined with required discreteness and presence of defect is determined from their change.
EFFECT: high reliability of detecting defects at considerable scanning speeds (up to 120 km/h and higher).
