SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to protocols, a device and methods for the data transmission in directional drilling. A device for the determination of a set of operating parameters related to an underground instrument contains: a transmitter supported next to the underground instrument for the determination of the set of operating parameters related to the underground instrument, and for processing of a data signal to characterize one or more of operating parameters for transmission based on an operating status of the underground instrument, and a receiver to be installed in a location above the ground to receive the data signal and to obtain operating parameters. In this case, the transmitter and the receiver are made with the possibility of use, in interaction, of a set of data protocols for the data signal, including a static pitch resolution protocol and a dynamic pitch resolution protocol, while the transmitter is made with the possibility of change in the data protocol of the data signal in response to the detection of a change in the operating status of the underground instrument, while at least one protocol from the dynamic pitch resolution protocol and the static pitch resolution protocol contains a representation of a pitch orientation of the transmitter based on a resolution, which decreases by one or more steps in response to an increase in a pitch orientation magnitude. In one embodiment, the transmitter contains: at least one sensor for the determination of one or more operating parameters related to the operating status of the underground instrument, and a processor made with the possibility of processing of the data signal for transmission from the transmitter based on the operating status of the underground instrument. In this case, the transmitter is made with the possibility of use of the set of data protocols for the data signal, including the static pitch resolution protocol and the dynamic pitch resolution protocol, wherein the transmitter is made with the possibility of change in the data protocol of the data signal in response to the detection of a change in the operating status of the underground instrument, while at least one protocol from the dynamic pitch resolution protocol and the static pitch resolution protocol contains a representation of the pitch orientation of the transmitter based on the resolution, which decreases by one or more steps in response to an increase in the pitch orientation magnitude.
