FIELD: ore enrichment technologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a chemical technology for the enrichment of carbonate manganese ore with the use and neutralization of slightly acidic wastewater from industrial enterprises. The resulting manganese concentrate can be used in metallurgy, in the chemical industry. The method includes supplying wastewater containing acetic, terephthalic, p-toluic and benzoic acids to the ore at a temperature of at least 10.0°C at a rate that provides contact time with the ore for 30-50 minutes to extract calcium carbonate from it and neutralize acids with an increase in wastewater pH to a value of 6.5-7.1. For a more complete extraction of calcium carbonate and an increase in the concentration of manganese dioxide to a value of 43-44%, the ore is additionally treated with an aqueous solution of acetic acid with a concentration of 1.0-70.0% at a rate that maintains the pH of the wastewater in the range of 6.5-7.1.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain high-quality enriched manganese ore using slightly acidic effluents from industrial enterprises.
