FIELD: measuring technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a gas analyser for detecting a target gas. The gas analyser comprises an image capturing unit with several optical channels, a means for obtaining ambient temperature values, a means for obtaining background brightness temperature values, an image processing unit and a computing unit. The image processing unit is configured to output the value of the radiation transmittance, which is related to the spectral bandwidth of the analysis and which is attributed to the amount of the target gas partially present in the field of view. The computing unit is configured to derive an estimate of the amount of the target gas based on the value of the radiation transmittance.
EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of gas discrimination in relation to the elements of the scene, providing the possibility of estimating the amount of gas in real time or almost in real time, and reducing the dimensions of the device.
