FIELD: aperture antennas.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for receiving and transmitting electromagnetic waves. The device consists of an exciter, which forms a surface wave, and an open periodic retarding structure, which is the radiating aperture of the antenna. The retarding structure is a metal corrugated surface with a periodic corrugation profile, above which a dielectric sheet is located, moving along the surface with metal strip conductors of the same width deposited on it. The period of location of strip conductors coincides with the period of corrugation of the metal surface. The dielectric sheet moves in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the conductors. When the dielectric sheet is shifted by a distance of no more than half the period of corrugation of the metal surface, the main lobe of the antenna pattern changes direction in the range of angles depending on the parameters of the slowing structure.
EFFECT: changes in the direction of the main lobe of the antenna pattern.
