FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for early diagnosis of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). That is ensured by OCT-angiography in improved image depth (EDI) of SPECTRALIS OCT2 device in peripapillary region. Most bright A-scan of the sagittal section is selected in the middle of the zone in the form of a square with side of 3 mm centered relative to the optic nerve disc. There are determined in this scanner the number of yellow pixels below the Bruch membrane and the thickness of the sclera mesh plate. If the number of yellow pixels is less than 17,000 and the thickness of the mesh plate of the sclera is less than 204 mcm, the initial stage of glaucoma is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides the accuracy and objectivity of early diagnosis of glaucoma by determining the most sensitive biomechanical parameters that vary at the early stages POAG.
