ULTRASOUND CONVERTING PROBE WITH HIGH-POWER MICROBEAM GENERATOR Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC G01S7/52 G01S15/89 B06B1/06

Abstract RU 2784561 C1

FIELD: diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ultrasound diagnostic imaging systems, in particular to converting probes with a microbeam generator for diagnostic imaging. An ultrasound device for operation with excitation currents providing increased transmission power contains a converting matrix and integrated circuit (46a, 46b) of the microbeam generator, located in the device. The integrated circuit of the beam former contains a set of excitation current amplifiers. Excitation current amplifiers are made with the possibility of generation of excitation current for actuation of converting matrix elements during ultrasound transmission. The converting matrix contains converting elements made with the possibility of being actuated by means of excitation current. At least one converting element of the matrix contains a set of piezoelectric layers (12). Piezoelectric layers are electrically connected in parallel to the excitation current amplifier of the integrated circuit of the microbeam generator and mechanically connected in series for ultrasound transmission. There is a possibility of increase in transmission power of the converting matrix by increase in excitation current.

EFFECT: possibility of provision of higher transmission power without excessive increase in size of a microbeam generator due to increase in excitation current coming from high-power semiconductor components, and not due to increase in excitation voltage, which allows for reduction in size of an ultrasound device.
