SYNTHETIC LENSES FOR ULTRASONIC IMAGING SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G10K11/34

Abstract RU 2800791 C2

FIELD: ultrasound imaging.

SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention lies in the fact that the ultrasound imaging system contains: a) an ultrasonic transducer containing a plurality of piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer elements (pMUT), with a plurality of transducer elements lined up in one or more rows and one or more columns, each of the plurality of pMUT transducer elements is provided with two or more pins, wherein two elements of the plurality of pMUT transducer elements are accessed simultaneously, the two elements being adjacent to each other in the same row of one or more rows, and the plurality of transducer elements comprising a top section, a central section and a bottom section, each of which contains a first number of rows and a second number of columns for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic pulses of the reflected ultrasonic signal, and the transmission and reception of ultrasonic pulses of the reflected ultrasonic signal from these sections are used to focus the reflected ultrasonic signal in the azimuth direction using a first beam former, while focusing in elevation is provided through the use of a second beam former; and b) one or more circuits coupled to a plurality of pMUT transducer elements, the one or more circuits being electronically configured to: i) transmit an ultrasonic pulse from the ultrasonic transducer; ii) receive the reflected ultrasonic signal with an ultrasonic transducer; and iii) electronic control with the ability to focus the ultrasonic pulse or reflected ultrasonic signal in the elevation direction.

EFFECT: improving the quality of ultrasound imaging and reducing energy consumption in the implementation of ultrasound imaging.
