FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the engineering protection of areas from dangerous geological processes (landslides, etc.) and hydraulic engineering construction of structures using a metal sheet pile. A U-shaped multifaceted sheet pile comprises an odd number of faces, including a bottom face, side faces symmetrically located relative to the vertical axis YY, and locking elements installed at the free ends of the extreme side faces. The faces are conjugated to each other at an angle, deg: α =180°× (1-1/(n-2))÷ 180°× (1-1/(n+2)), and the extreme side faces are set to the horizontal axis XX at an angle, deg:β =90°× (1-1/n)÷ 90°, where n is the number of pile faces, whereas ∑ (α +β )=(180° ±Δα )× (n-1), where Σ (α +β) is the sum of all angles limited by the inner surface of the pile and the horizontal axis XX, ±Δα is the deviation of the angle between the faces from the nominal, and the width of the bottom edge is 1.0 ÷ 2.0 of the maximum side face width.
EFFECT: reducing the metal consumption of sheet piles, increasing its load capacity, simplifying production, increasing the metal utilization rate, reducing storage areas and increasing the load of vehicles during the transportation of piles.
