FIELD: medicine, thoracic surgery.
SUBSTANCE: connective tissue is excised at the level of the sternum diastasis with the refreshment of the bone edges and the removal of incompetent cerclages from the sternum in the area of the formed diastasis. The defect of the sternum is replaced with a simulated filling material. A CODUBIX polypropylene-polyester prosthesis based on a plate modeled after the shape of a wedge during intraoperative measurement of diastasis is used as a filling material. The prosthesis without tension is fixed with interrupted sutures to the sternum in the area of its diastasis.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to eliminate sternum diastasis, preserve the framework of the chest wall in a tension-free way, and create favorable conditions for the integration of the CODUBIX polypropylene-polyester prosthesis into tissues.
