FIELD: railway.
SUBSTANCE: technical solution relates to means for monitoring the condition of axles and peripheral devices of wheel sets of railway vehicles. The system contains a steel axle (10) and at least one observation device (20) connected to the axle (10) and containing at least one sensor (21), one microcontroller (22), one data transmitter (24), one power supply source (23) and one storage unit. In this case, at least one monitoring device (20) performs measurements of data indicating the observed conditions of the axle (10) and its peripheral devices, and transmits the measurement readings to at least one remote point, and the observed conditions contain at least one of the bearing temperature, vibration associated with shocks, mechanical stresses, number of cycles, speed, position and integrity violations. The axle (10) is a seamless hollow tubular steel axle, and the observation device (20) is located inside the bearing seat (11) of the axle (10) or a peripheral device of the axle is built in.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of wheel pair axle control.
