FIELD: equipment for analysis.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a system and apparatus for qualitative and quantitative analysis of solid particles in liquid samples by optical microscopy. The cassette (1, 200, 300) for use in determining the presence and concentration of solid particles in a suspension sample contains a housing (2) having a support (5), an inlet channel (20) designed to receive a suspension sample, and a closed receiving channel (6 ) for a suspension sample, communicating by means of a suspension sample with an inlet channel (20), wherein the closed receiving channel (6) for a suspension sample has an upper part (7) and a base (5a) connected by at least two walls (11a, 11b), moreover, the upper part (7) is made having a width less than the width of the base (5a), and an elevated platform (50) extending upward from the base (5a), moreover, the closed receiving channel (6) for the suspension sample is made having a depth of more than 400 mcm, but less 3000 mcm as measured from the top of the raised platform (50), with the inlet (20) acting as a sample delivery passage into the closed receiving channel (6) for a suspension sample, in which the walls (11a, 11b) of the closed receiving channel (6) for a suspension sample have a slope of 40° up to less than 90° relative to the base (5a), wherein the closed receiving channel (6) for the suspension sample further comprises an elevated platform (50) extending upwards from the base (5a), and the raised platform (50) is spaced from the upper part (7) and from both walls (11a, 11b), and wherein the depth of the closed receiving channel (6) for the suspension sample is measured from the top of the raised platform (50).
