FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to methods and systems for processing a sample for mixing, separating, filtering, or otherwise processing a sample (e.g., a liquid sample (fluid assay)) by using magnetic particles (e.g., ferrimagnetic particles) inducing movement under the effect of a magnetic node located at the periphery of the container containing the sample. Magnetic particle contains a magnetic material with a maximum field intensity in the range from 20 emu/g to 250 emu/g and a residual magnetisation in the range from 0 emu/g to 30 emu/g, wherein the magnetic particle has a diameter of at least 100 nm. The magnetic particle additionally contains a ligand-containing outer surface. Said ligand interacts with the analyte of interest in the sample solution.
EFFECT: improved mixing of ferrimagnetic particles in the sample, improved mass transfer, and reduction in the energy consumption.
