FIELD: bridges.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to structural elements of bridges, namely to the design of expansion joints. The self-aligning design of the expansion joint consists of: metal profiles 2 and rotary traverses 3 located across the metal profiles 2 at the calculated angle. Metal profiles 2 are provided with rubber compensators 4 between them. The rotary traverse is a composite structure consisting of two metal beams in cross section, with a cavity between them, in which a block of rubber elements is located. Rotary traverse 3 is combined with metal profiles 2 through fastening blocks 5, which can be made U-shaped or L-shaped. The self-aligning structure is additionally equipped with two boxes 7 with the edges of rotary traverse 3 entering both the sides of the boxes.
EFFECT: increased service life of expansion joints and simplification of their maintenance during operation.
