FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to copper-based friction materials intended for operation in friction units of machines and mechanisms in the presence of lubrication. The method for manufacturing a friction disc includes applying and prebaking a freely poured layer of friction material based on copper powder onto a steel carrier base, its additional compaction by pressing the disk, and sintering. At the same time, the friction material based on copper powder is preliminarily mechanically alloyed with tin, and foundry coke is added to the resulting material. Compaction by pressing the disk is carried out with a force of 1800 kN.
EFFECT: reduced spreading of the molten tin, respectively, chipping of the friction material during the operation of the finished product, increased area of its contact with the steel base and strength, increased heat transfer of the peripheral areas of the lining of the friction disk.
