FIELD: production of friction articles.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed are methods of applying and sintering a layer of friction material with a metal frame, sealing with puncheons having oil-removing slots on the surface. Method of making a friction article, in which a metal frame doped with manganese, which is pre-galvanically coated with a copper layer, layer of friction material is applied and preliminarily baked on, which is compacted by pressing with force from 2 to 2.5 t/cm2 and sintered, and thickness of copper layer applied on metal frame is 13–16 mcm, wherein the friction material is made from a copper powder-based mixture containing tin powder, baking on and sintering is carried out in a protective-reducing atmosphere with an oxygen content of 0.1–0.5%, at temperature of 780–850 °C for 50–70 minutes.

EFFECT: high strength of attachment of friction material with metal frame.
