CONTINUOUS FLOW METHODS OF OBTAINING BICYCLIC COMPOUNDS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC C07C1/28 C07C7/144 C07C13/605 C07C17/278 C07C23/04 C07C45/68 C07C49/533 C07C209/02 C07C211/38 C07D209/08 C07D209/14

Abstract RU 2800934 C2

FIELD: organic chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of bicyclic compounds and their precursors, in particular to the production of [1.1.1]propellane, using continuous flow reaction conditions. The following is disclosed: a continuous in-line process for the production of [1.1.1]propellane, comprising mixing 1,1-dibromo-2,2-bis(chloromethyl)cyclopropane with an organometallic reagent selected from the group consisting of n-butyllithium, methyllithium, methyllithium bromide complex and lithium and phenyllithium, in a continuous flow reactor under the first reaction conditions selected for (a) carrying out the reaction of 1,1-dibromo-2,2-bis(chloromethyl)cyclopropane with an organometallic reagent to obtain [1.1.1]propellane and salt; and (b) minimizing clogging of the continuous flow reactor with salt, wherein the continuous flow reactor comprises a static mixer, wherein the mixing of 1,1-dibromo-2,2-bis(chloromethyl)cyclopropane with the organometallic reagent is carried out with a static mixer at a stirring speed effective to minimize fouling of the continuous flow reactor with salt, and wherein the first reaction conditions include mixing the solvent with 1,1-dibromo-2,2-bis(chloromethyl)cyclopropane and an organometallic reagent in a continuous flow reactor, wherein the solvent is selected from the group consisting of diethyl ether, diethoxymethane, dibutyl ether, methyl tert-butyl ether, tetrahydrofuran, 2-methyltetrahydrofuran and mixtures thereof.

EFFECT: efficient continuous flow method of obtaining [1.1.1]propellane.
