FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: module of a low-profile phased antenna array with middle-sized dielectric particles, containing a housing, components of a phased antenna array beam control system, phase shifters, emitters consisting of thin-walled metal waveguides with an open end containing dielectric rod antennas with a protruding part and placed in the plane in the form of even and odd rows with a fixed pitch, staggered by half a step relative to each other in a checkerboard pattern. The novelty is that the emitters consist of thin-walled metal waveguides with an open end, directly on the surface of which dielectric middle-sized cuboid-shaped particles with edges not less than λ and a height equal to approximately (1-1.8)λ are placed symmetrically, whereλ is the emission wavelength in free space and the refractive index of the lens material is in the range approximately equal to 1.4 to 1.7, while the edges of the base of the cuboid at the open end of the waveguide are parallel to the walls of the waveguide, and the distance L between the centres of the dielectric antennas is selected from the condition L≈(N-0.5)λ, where N=1, 2….

EFFECT: reduced longitudinal dimensions of the antenna at least two times, tightness of the open end of the waveguide.
